Forscensic charts: Miami vs Chicago 11/12/09
I think Miami is higher in theft, auto theft, burgalry and auto theft because they are categories that yeild wealthier rewards, because Miami has the largest density of banks, arts and trade. People will have more expensive items for theft.
Miami vs L.A.
I think Miami is higher in everything simply because Miami is a bigger city than L.A. However, I think L.A. has a lower theft percentage because L.A. is not as wealthy of a city as Miami, so there would be less to steal.
Miami vs Portsmouth
I think the case in this graph is the same as the previous one, except much more extreme. In the theft category, however, Portsmouth is almost at the national ave. because it thetf is a minor crime, and that is almost the only type that occurs in small cities.

Bottle making 9/25/09
1. I think bottles are made of amorphous solids such as plastic and glass because crystalline solids are much less durable and dissolvable.
2. The mold must have a higher melting temperature than the glass because if it didn't, the mold would melt and would not suppot the softened glass, hence making the mold not work.
3. The viscocity would have to be high because the parison would melt otherwise and not support the glass, hence not making the mold work.
4. Because glass looks like water, but water is a liquid and glass is a solid.

E.T. Story 9/14/09
I think that the car is not a life form, so I would take Wicket's side of the lawsuit. Cars are not living things, and are not consious. They cannot reproduce either.

Apple: living or non-living
I think the apple is alive because it still has seeds in it that will grow when planted. Also, when my dad planted a garden we had to uproot some tomatoes because there were too many, and the green tomatoes on the uprooted plant ripened, showing that fruits are still alive when their food supply is cut off. Herbs, however, die after fruiting. That is part of why bananas go bad so fast, because they are herbs
